Terms of service

RoAuction is an auction marketplace for Roblox development assets. For sales under $1,000 we act as the merchant of record: the buyer pays us, we hold the funds, and we pay the seller after the buyer confirms delivery.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation. Roblox is a trademark of Roblox Corporation.

• You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian do it.
• One Roblox account maps to one RoAuction account, permanently. Do not create second accounts.
• A verified email address is required before you can bid or list.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account. Turn on two-factor authentication; it is required before your first payout regardless.
• We may suspend or close an account for fraud, for prohibited listings, or for repeated non-payment.

• You may only list work you own and have the right to sell. See prohibited items.
• Every uploaded file is hashed and scanned. Files matching our published backdoor rules are rejected automatically.
• A published listing is binding. Its price, licence and duration cannot be edited once it is live.
• You may cancel a listing with zero bids. After the first bid, cancellation goes through support and counts against your seller record.
• You choose licence terms from our presets. You may not add your own conditions in the description.

• A bid is a commitment to buy. If you win, you will be charged.
• Bids cannot be retracted except for an obvious entry error inside 60 seconds.
• Bidding on your own listing, or arranging for someone else to, is shill bidding. It ends the account and forfeits any pending payout.
• Bid caps apply by trust tier. Two non-payment strikes suspends bidding on the account.

• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Winning bidders are charged off-session against the payment method saved at bid time.
• Funds are held by RoAuction until the buyer confirms delivery, then released to the seller after the applicable hold period.
• Your card statement will show ROAUCTION. The same descriptor is repeated in your delivery email.
• New sellers carry a 10% rolling reserve, released after 90 days.

• All files are delivered through RoAuction, using expiring links. Off-platform delivery is not permitted and is not protected.
• The download unlocks only after the buyer confirms the item is what they bought.
• Licence terms are set by the preset the seller chose. An exclusive listing transfers source and bars the seller from ever reselling that work.
• Buyers may not resell, redistribute or publish the source under any preset except exclusive.

For sales under $1,000 we arbitrate, narrowly. Either party may open a dispute before the payout releases; doing so freezes the funds.

• We look at both statements alongside the complete delivery log.
• Resolving for the buyer refunds the charge and records an upheld dispute against the seller.
• Our decision is final for the funds we hold. It does not affect your rights with your card issuer.
• A chargeback opened with your bank freezes the payout automatically and is handled by Stripe's process, not ours.

5% commission on a successful sale, locked at the moment you publish. Nothing upfront and nothing if the item does not sell. The full schedule is on the fees page and forms part of these terms.

• Do not move a transaction off-platform. It is the most common way people get scammed here.
• Do not harass other users, in Q&A or anywhere else.
• Do not attempt to scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Do not misuse the dispute process to extract free work.

RoAuction provides the marketplace, the escrow, and the delivery mechanism. We do not author, own, or guarantee the assets sold on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount we held for the transaction in question.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Changes never apply retroactively to a listing that is already live or an order that is already placed.
